Generosity
Giving
It is a great honor and privilege to support the work of God on earth. Here’s how we think about giving — and how you can give.
Our Financial Principles
- We believe God’s work done in God’s way will not lack God’s supply.
- We pray for the financial needs of our church and believe every member should do the same.
- We will not ask for funds from the church body unless a special benevolence need exists and we are unable to meet it.
- Our church does not take an offering. There is a place to give privately at the back of the church, or gifts can be made online. Giving is between the giver and God, and all gifts remain confidential.
- We do publicly thank God for His provision during each service. Such thanksgiving is an important part of public worship.
- Our church remains debt-free, and we purpose to remain that way.
When Should You Give?
- 1 Give as a born-again child of God. It is a great honor and privilege to support the work of God — a privilege given to His children (3 John 7).
- 2 Give according to your convictions. Whether or not you tithe, give as the Spirit of God directs — not to earn more of God’s love. He already loves you with all of His love.
- 3 Give with a grateful spirit and a cheerful heart. God loves a cheerful giver.
- 4 First take care of the needs of your family (1 Timothy 5:8).
- 5 Pay your bills on time and eliminate debt. The borrower is servant to the lender (Proverbs 22:7).
- 6 Pay the taxes that are due (Matthew 22:21; Romans 13:8).
- 7 Give with a clear conscience — first be reconciled with others (Matthew 5:23–24).
- 8 Give freely and cheerfully, never under pressure from what others may think (2 Corinthians 9:7).
“May the Lord bless you and guide you in your personal life — and in your giving. And may all your gifts truly be from a grateful heart for the grace that Christ’s sacrifice has provided you.”
