What Makes Us Different

Why First Baptist Las Colinas?

Everyone needs to find a church that honors the inspired, inerrant Word of God — and a church that fits them. Here’s what you should know about us.

Welcome to First Baptist Las Colinas. Our church seeks to help build and strengthen families and to lay the foundation of many godly generations. We believe God wants parents to assume responsibility for the education, nurture, and training of their children. Many churches “split up” the family as soon as they arrive — but we are a family-integrated church, seeking to keep families together during worship and Bible training.

Expository preaching

Our Senior Pastor, Robert Rohlin, seeks to help us mine the depths of God’s Word, usually studying straight through books of the Bible.

Participating fathers

In our afternoon service, fathers are often given the opportunity to share from God’s Word.

Family-integrated Bible study

Each Sunday we study God’s Word in depth as whole families, with an audiovisual format that keeps even younger students focused. Children can go home and discuss the lesson with their parents.

The great old hymns

We sing the great hymns of the faith and the old-time gospel songs, choosing to please God with our music rather than bring the world’s music into the church.

Family-focused

College students, single professionals, single-parent families, and large families all make up our body. Our mission is to build and strengthen families so they can do ministry together.

Youth who do ministry

Rather than a youth ministry of activities and pizza, our young people sing, play in the church orchestra, put on plays, preach, pass out tracts, serve the community, and help with younger children.

A fellowshiping church

We love to share a fellowship lunch after worship, where families bring food — and always extra for visitors. There is a place at our table for you.

Missions-minded

Over the years our church has planted Cantonese, Mandarin, and Hispanic congregations that have since grown and moved to larger facilities. Today we host two Telugu and one Tamil congregation, reaching the large Indian population around us for Christ.

A welcoming church

On any given Sunday you’ll find people of multiple ethnic, economic, and age backgrounds. If you want to worship God and learn from His Word, there’s a place for you — just expect to be hugged a few times!

We look forward to seeing you at First Baptist Church Las Colinas — a family-integrated church where God is working.
