Building Strong Fathers, Strong Families · Malachi 4:6
A church family rooted in Scripture for 166 years.
Conservative, family-integrated, and warmly welcoming. We gather in Las Colinas for verse-by-verse preaching, traditional hymns, and the fellowship of generations worshiping together.
Who We Are
First Baptist Church Las Colinas is a debt-free, Bible-believing congregation in Irving, Texas, and the second oldest Baptist church in the DFW area. We hold to salvation purchased by Christ and received by an act of will to become a Christian (John 1:12). We focus on expository preaching to equip the believers, the sufficiency of Scripture, and the God-given role of the family.
In the last 25 years, our church has started a Cantonese congregation, a Mandarin congregation, and a Hispanic congregation. These groups moved to larger facilities but bear fond affections toward the church that helped them get their start. Currently we have two Telugu-speaking congregations and one Tamil congregation — three Indian congregations reaching the large Indian population around us for Jesus Christ.
Our American congregation was decimated in numbers by Covid and the ruling of a Dallas County judge who barred us from meeting in our building until Governor Abbott gave churches a green light to return. We are asking God for new families to help us rebuild our American congregation, but feel it is part of our role and legacy to help new congregations get started and become churches. Our Arise & Shine Fellowship is now a member church in the Baptist Missionary Association of Texas (BMA).
